Actually, it depends on the manufacturer. They interchange glaze and polish like crazy and one company's polish may be lighter in abrasive/cleaning properties than another's glaze. Wax Shop's Super Glaze is actually a wax, for instance.
Meguiars Hand Polish is every bit as gentle on paint as their Show Car Glaze #7, so even if it is the same company, the terms polish and glaze seem to be interchangable.
