You can do this with Tuf Shine. Just spread it thinly with the orange applicator it comes with. If it's slightly shiny at first, don't worry about it, as the gloss will go away in a few days and you'll have exactly what you were seeking for a long, long time. On our van it lasted for about nine months.
Proper prep includes using Tuf Shine tire cleaner.
