What would you use if looks was your ONLY concern?

Glaze?

Top Quality Wax?

Zaino?

Tell me your favorite product for dark colors. Or light colors...

After polishing, Toughseal step 1, glare infinity plus or one of CG's glazes (WMF etc)

Yea, polish... something intermediary followed by a glaze and a good wax would be best for look in my op too

looks only? i dont get it.
I think he means if you weren't concerned about durability at all.

To answer the question, for a dark car Souveran paste wax. That would offer great looks and at least a little durability.

It would depend on the paint, simple as that.

In most cases, I don't think I'd use a regular LSP at all, just a glaze or maybe even just a final polish. That seems to be how some industry people do it too:

Last I heard, Forrest from Mother's (who certainly knows his products and has a lot of stuff available) only uses a glaze on his showcar. Similarly, IIRC Mike at 1Z recommends their MetallicPolish with Wax or their WaxPolishSoft for cases like this. These days Mike Phillips at Meguiar's seems to put NXT on everything, but for ages #7 (by itself) was the standard Meguiar's regimen for showcars.

Which glaze would again, depend on the paint. I'd certainly use different stuff on ss than I'd use on b/c and different stuff on metallics/pearls than on straight colors.

I'll answer your question but know that a properly polished car without any LSP will look as good as a waxed car.

My choice:

CG ez creme topped with DP max wax.

Here are my favorites based on colors.

Darker Colors: ZAIO, Z5pro, CS

Lighter Colors: AIO, Z2pro, CS

My car sees the top combo, and even if it was looks, it would be what I go to.

^if thats the case...lol ... then looks is NEVER the only concern for me.

a post that has nothing to do with the topic except serve the purpose of snobbish rhetoric... I don't get it?

I like this thread better than the usual "what's the best wax" threads because the question is more specific. However, the question could still stand to be made more specific. "Looks" has a lot of components to it. There's wetness, reflectivity (sub factors of reflectivity include sharpness of reflections, color reproduction of reflections, depth, etc.), flake pop, gloss level, just to name a few.

Personally, I am only concerned about "looks" when I detail my car (at least during the warmer months). So, I polish with a compound if necessary (XMT 3, Optimum Compound, Menzerna IP, any of them will do) and then finish up with Menzerna PO85RD or PO106FF whichever is necessary. Then I use Zymol HD Cleanse to finish prepping the surface and then follow up with two coats of Zymol Vintage. This gives me a level of wetness which I like, HIGH reflectivity with EXCELLENT reflection clarity and reproduction, mild flake pop, and some gloss (I hate high gloss which is why I don't use a sealant).

Your taste in "looks" may differ.

Actually every time I use RMG I am amazed at the finish, and I have yet to find a wax that does not mute the look of RMG slightly.

If I was going to a car show, I would prep the paint as usual, then top with RMG and thats it (QD at the show with crystal mist).

Of course, I would not recomend this for a daily driver or even garage queen because the durability is basically zero, but the look is crazy!
