What would happen if I used an 85% Cotton towel?

The other is 15% polyester.... I don't know if that is just counting the edges and such, but I was just curious. I have never used anything but 100% cotton towels on my cars, and I only use these towels on the wheels.

So, what would happen if I used an 85% cotton towel to dry the car with?

Take a CD disc. Go under some quartz halogen lights and see if its scratch free and clean. Spray some QD on it. Take your 85% cotton towel and rub briskly until QD is dry. Go under the halogen lights again and take a good close look at the CD. Look for any micro-marring, light or faint scratches. Let us know what you find.

This is a very easy and cheap way to simulate what MAY happen to your car's paint using this towel.

I figured it would leave some type of micro scratch. I'll just keep them for use on my wheels and engine, they were free anyways (that's why I was asking).

I may give that CD test thing a try though.....

Thanks guys.
