Hey guys,

It's time to detail the "old" truck!!:yay I am looking for the best combo. My question is what is the difference between the Poorboys finishing polish and Wolfgangs finishing glaze? I have the WG finishing glaze and a PC. In my opinion the truck has great depth and reflection currently. My initial plan is the following (very few light swirls):

Wash (NXT)
Clay (WG)
Finishing Polish or Finishing Glaze (thoughts???)
WG Sealant

Thanks

In think that you have it...the polish after the clay, the glaze will add a nice pop to the paint then the WG is great...wait one day and top with a good paste wax...will look like a million bucks

Thanks Beemer Boy!! So the Polish is before the Finishing glaze and after the swirl remover (3, 2.5, 2, 1, etc)? Any opinions on the poorboys finishing polish?

Thanks again,

I didn't know you had the SSR then I would use the SSR1 after the clay...have a look at see if that's done what you want...head for the glaze next and then WG...its what I do on most of my details

SCDetail, I'm unclear as to which product you are refering to as a finishing polish. SSR1?

Regarding the use of a glaze before the sealant. Though I'm not familiar with the WG product, my first thought is that you would be compromising the durability at a minimum.

Something like PB's PP, PwS, KAIO, JW Prime type products would probably be a better base for your sealant application.

Sorry for all the questions.:yikes: Last one I hope, any tips for using the Glaze?

Thanks,

SCDetail.

The glaze that I am using is made by FK1.......I apply mine by hand...trick that I have found is not to let the glaze set up to long...I work in panels so that it doesn't dry to hard...makes it real hard to get it all off...I also use some QD spray over the panel right after just to make sure that I have picked everything up

So if I use Poorboys Spray and Gloss it will not hurt the Sealants ability to bond with the paint?

Thanks you have been a great help.

i find the key for white vehicles, is to clean the paint very very very well, using strong wash and soap (like dawn) then lube and clay, a cleaner wax, then wax/polish, sealant, and whatever else.......if its your personal vehicle the paint is probably already clean enough, so maybe a wash, swirl remover/polish, and wax, post some before and afters

Using Dawn is not necessary to get the car really clean...the clay will do all that...you could use a paint cleaner after that if you want some thing more...but the polish will also clean it as well
