What do you guys use on the rubber trim that seals off the doors around the windows? i have no idea what to use and i don't want to damage the trim in any way.

I was also wondering what to use on my bumper? do i polish it like the rest of my car? it is a plastic type of material..i really have no idea what it is. Can ssr be used to polish plastic bumpers? The car below is not my car btw, but the same model.

I also was wondering if PB trim restorer would be a good product to dress the door handles. As you can see below, they are very faded. Would trim restorer make my door handles sticky?

I think Poorboy's Trim Restorer would work for both the trim and the door handles. I use it on all of my exterior trim and it works great and lasts through a couple of washes too. It wont leave your door handles sticky. They may be a little slick if you apply it heavily though.

I like to use Adam's VRT.

Yes, continue to polish it as you would the rest of the paint.

if you can post a close-up picture of the bumper trim, it would be more helpful.
Is it a grainy plasitc or is it smooth..hard to tell from the picture...:dunno
Not sure about the door handle either as to what would work or last...as i remember it's a hard plastic and if you are planning on keeping the car for a while, you might consider replacing the handles and then taking very good care of them...:hippi

Yikes, pretty bad huh...I would suggest Autoglym bumper care , superb durability and great look on my bmw door handles as well as bumpers. My 2nd choice would be either TR or VRT.

I'd probably give Trim Restore a shot. If it doesn't do the trick, it's still a fantastic product to use on your door seals, engine bay, etc....

If it doesn't do the trick, look into products by 'Trim-a-Shield'. TOL sells it and it works very well. Use a foam brush to paint it on.

thx guys...the door handle really doesnt look that bad in natural light, i guess the flash really makes it look bad. I think ill take a shot with the pb trim restorer and then try other products if it doesnt work.

For the seals I use 1Z Gummi-phledge (I think that's how you spell it). It works really well as long as you let it dry before you close the doors. It makes the seals nice and pliable and adds a nice look too. I like the shoe polish style applicator, it makes it pretty easy to use and you don't get any of your applicators really dirty.

A heads up on 1Z rubber and vinyl care (plastik-reinger I think). If you use it on your dash VRT will NOT soak into your vinyl, it just spreads around. It gives a fairly nice look on it's own, but only if you like shiny.
