I have some paint that has been keyed and i think im going to try the langka stuff. I need to do some more testing for how long i should let it dry before i use it tho.

What should i do to make the 15 year old paint look new again? i just tried a little spot with the meguires step 2 polish or whatever and it seemed to do wonders. should i use something before this? the step one stuff? I will probably just do it by hand although we do have a couple different buffers. How to i make sure there are no swirl marks? it seems almost impossibe to do, becasue i get them after just waxing and what soap do you guys use to get all the wax off? I dont know much about detailing besides just a basic wax.

I think im going to use rejeX on the wheels and the lower panels where junk gets shot up from the wheels. I really dont know about other sealents or what they do anyone care to explain? can a wax be applied on top of them?

I'll probably think of a few more questions but thats it for now

Hi Nick,
I'll presume that you have some swirls and oxidation.

After you wash (don't forget to use 2 buckets), clay the car. You wouldn't believe how much grime is still in your paint even after washing.

I don't know if you are looking for local products or shopping online (if you are shopping online don't forget our sponsors on the left sidebar ;)

The Meg's deep crystal system works well but will not remove swirls.
If you are shopping locally:
Wash
Clay
Meg's ScratchX (will take some time to remove swirls by hand)
Meg's ColorX
Top with NXT

If buying online:
after wash and clay
SSR 2.5 or Meg's #83
SSR1
PB PwC or AIO
Top with favorite LSP

Remember to put your wax or sealant on in thin coats otherwise it is tough to remove and you are only throwing away product

Sealants bond with the surface and require a very clean surface and won't bond well with a surface that has oils or carnuaba on it.

Yes you can apply a carnuaba on top of a sealant, but not a sealant on top of a carnuaba.

I am just giving you a general outline with my products that have worked for me, others I'm sure will chime in with their favorites.
