What to do to just preserve and enhance

Well for starters, what grit is the clay disk ? fine grit, medium grit, super fine grit ?
Who makes it, chemical guys?

Do you have some claybar lube to use with it, or what are you going to use ?

It might be ok but if it starts tearing out the dead clearcoat, it could also make it look worse..
Perhaps experiment carefully on just a little spot and see how it works..

If that`s the only real damage on the car and you are doing a private party sale instead of a trade, I`d see if someone would do a respray for a couple hundred if you do the prep work. Anything else is just a waste of time. Spend the time on the interior.

It is a fine grit from maxshine

I was planning on using claybar lube, or maybe N914 diluted to use as lube
