What to do....polish/wax

I washed my truck the other day and wasn't happy with how the finish felt. I've worked hard on it all summer. Polished twice, waxed three times, the latest being about a month ago. It feels kinda sticky....not smooooooth. I've waxed three times, the last being about a month ago. I wash it a lot. Should Meq's #49 Final Inspection Spray be all I need to do?

I've bought some Meq's #5 New Car Glaze(it was on sale) and have some #9 Swirl Remover, #29 Gold Carnuba Wax and #49 Final Inspection.

Do I need to go thru all the polishing and waxing already or is the Final Inspection all I need?

I've heard talk about sealant....what product is that? Is it in the Meq's line?

Thanks,

I've been using sealant (Autoglym, Klasse) for most of my detailing life (30+ years) they are an acrylic resin system, and do not contain any wax. Both these lines have a polisher that removes harmful surface contaminants and imparts a tough, glossy, protective barrier to preserve expensive paintwork and a sealing finish. It’s hard to tell the difference between the two brands (The Brits prefer Autoglym and the Germans prefer Klasse) ;-)

You didn't mention claying. If it were me, and smoothness was what I was after, I'd probably strip it down with dawn/detergent and then clay the truck (especially if it's never been clayed)......followed by whatever polish/sealant/wax combination suits you. I used to be resistant to claying my vehicles but, after claying my wife's '98 mustang and now her '03 Accord, it's amazing the difference it can make. Energy of activation is a bit greater for my pick-up, but it'll get done next time I strip the wax.

Just my $0.02.
