What size vacuum?

Oh I'll Bring the Shizzle
I have read many posts for the past few months and I am grateful for all the information that you guys have posted (especially nydetailer). I even decided to take the plunge and I am now starting to accumulate some equipment and products to start my own detail business. I will be needing a vacuum and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to what size, brand e.t.c..... I am not looking for a $1500 kirby or anything high priced, but I just want something that will do a good job for a reasonable price.

The one that is highly recommended around here is the Vac N' Blo. You can get it as a wall mounted unit for $299, or the portable for $175. I intend on getting the portable one myself soon!

Can be ordered from www.properautocare.com

I've got a Vac N Blo and it's *perfect* for auto vacuuming. Plenty of suction and nice and small.

But any ol' wet/dry vac unit will do the trick too. I've got a mid-sized Ridgid (4HP) and it performs about the same but it's not nearly as portable and easy to use. But it was lots cheaper - I think I paid $70 for the Ridgid and $150ish for the Vac N Blo.

So if you have $250 or so laying around then buy both like I did. If not, a wet/dry vac is fine.

something small with a lot of power turbo shark or my new vacume dirt devil platinum with a floating brush

I reccomend that you get a 2 1/2 inch diameter hose verses the 1 1/4. You don't NEED this, but I highly reccomend it. Most Ridgids have it, but not all Shop Vacs have it. Three horsepower should be enough to suck up water from carpets.
