What should I try in terms of a premium wax?

I believe I want to try a premium wax now. Normally, I use something from Meguiar's, like NXT, GC, or #26. I actually like them, but I want to see what else is out there.

Anyway, I'm considering something from Zaino, Wolfgang, or Pinnacle Sourveran.

Any must try, or even another brand?

I did try P21S years ago.

try fk1000p or victorias red concours, both excellent imho. you'll get more durability out of 1000p though, it is a sealant in paste form.

First off, welcome!

If you're wanting to try a premium wax, you can leave Zaino off that list. Zaino is a sealant. If you're actually talking about a true wax, and you're wanting to spend more than $15-20, I'd try P21S 100%. It's priced around $55. Souveran is another great choice, but it's around $85.

Yeah Zaino was a typo I meant zymol.

Many thanks for some great choices to try.

I'd try Souveran, and not just because I like it :D It's the sorta thing that could be pictured in a dictionary next to the entry for "premium wax".

Waxing with Souveran is, for a detailer, kinda like, uhm...like driving a Porsche is for a sportscar nut; it's the sort of thing that aficionados have at least given a try even if it didn't end up rocking their world.

What did you think of the P21S? Why not return?

I know you asked slk911 and not me, but I'll answer that one too :D

I tried P21S after hearing an earful about how it compares to Souveran, used it on the Jag, a vehicle whose "look" I really know, and I did *NOT* like the P21S on it.

Compared to Souveran the P21S was very light, bright and reflective, with less depth and richness (all those characteristics should probably be in quotes ;) ). It looked a lot like Meg's #16, which I really like on some paints but not on others. Not nearly as durable as #16 though so when I want that look I'll just use the #16 instead.

And sure, I can completely understand if somebody thinks P21S is wonderful. That person (on the same paint), probably wouldn't like how Souveran looks, they're simply *different*, much the way Meg's #16 and #26 are different.

I would try any of the Estate Glazes from Zymol. I just picked up Destiny from autosupermart for $475. Usually sells for over $600. I think they raised the price to low $500's, which is still a good price. Great wax, give it a try.

Always love more input. I just picked up the original P21S to top Klasse SG. I heard that combo can be a winner. I've got Blackfire and I'm sure I'll end up with a few more. Got to stimulate the economy and all....

Thanks

Glad to see you are doing your bit to turn the economy around. Keep up the good work!

Another wax for you to consider: Victoria Concours Red.

I havent seen Dodo Supernatural mentioned yet. Everything Ive seen looks very nice. I intend on picking up a sample of it soon.

You haven't mentioned the color of the car yet.

Are you looking for a lot of brilliance or longer lasting protection?

Just in case you're like me with a darker red car and and want a beauty wax, Souveran or Victoria Concours are two great choices.

The whites or light grays may have different favourites.

What are you doing in terms of paint correction?

The main car it's for is black, but I have a darkish silver color too that I would use the wax on sometimes.

For correction, I use like M105/M205, so I'm just trying to look for a new special wax to try out.

Appreciate all the help.

I also use premium wax for my car even food items as simple as apples, peaches and pears, are often laden with and coated with an assortments and combinations of chemicals; from bee-wax to Alar, and as a result, discerning consumers must thoroughly was, even fresh fruits before ingesting them.

Life abroad, is,20or can be very sedentary. From riding escalators to elevators to the car to the train or public buses and airplanes etc. :bestwish

Unless you have a need for a super show car look, you can get a beautiful deep glossy shine with many products priced under $25.00. FK1000P is one we use, topped with Danase Wet Glaze, looks wonderful.

I like Souveran and Fuzion. I have used many waxes. These will meet your expections if the prep is done right. Polish Men. PO85RD, Red Moose Glaze, then Souveran or fuzion will look awesome.

I think you'll see a real difference between those (assuming you have the BF sealant, haven't tried their wax). IME both those have rather specific "looks" and they're quite different.

That "darkish silver" you mentioned reminds me of my Jag's "Rhodium Silver Metallic" (a weird single stage lacquer). That's one of those real eye-of-the-beholder paints and who knows *what* any given person is gonna prefer on it :D

FWIW my wife's all-time fave LSP for Audi silver is Souveran, and everyone thinks of that as a wax for dark colors :nixweiss
