I recently purchased a 2001 540i - overall in good shape, with one exception. On the passenger side lower panel, there is a dent with chipped paint which has started to rust.
I'm looking for advice on the best way to ensure the rust doesn't spread as well as repairing the dent. After reading some articles on thinking of sanding the rust away, then filling the dent with bondo and painting. I have attached some pictures of the dent, it's about the size of a quarter.
Any advice would be appreciated. Also can I get away with using a brush to apply touch up paint or should I look into getting matching spray paint?
Thanks,
Tommy
