Im going to be using the woolite solution for the carpets and then im going to be using a shop vac for sucking up the water and dirt.

What's the minimum horsepower wet/dry vacuum that i should get?

and what's the best way to clean the carpet with the woolite and shop vac?

should i spray the woolite solution, then scrub, then extract with vac, then rinse, then extract with vac again?

I'd like to know the same thing. I'm thinking about getting the shop-vac brand with 6.5 hp. They have the contractor one at Lowes.

i made this thread about 3 months ago. I bought a ridgid 5 hp 4 gallon vacuum, got it at home depot for $70. It is the best wet vac that i have ever used. Excellent sucticion, nice portability.

I have ridgid pro 6.5 hp lots of suction & torque, its a 16 gal which comes in handy doing lots of cars. It came with a 7ft hose which I use for blowing and I bought a 14 or 10 hose for suction and a bought an extra filter.

Vac filters are made of paper when it gets dirty you beat it, blow it out, or wash it. Wet filters take a long time to dry.

Craftsman WallVac - 5.0hp

It is tall and thin (fit's nicely in the trunk) and sucks like...well I won't use an analogy...I don't wanna get banned, but honestly excellent machine.

Don't you have problems with it tipping over? Or, did you mount it in your truck?
