I'm going to do some chip repair to my hood, and I've read Davids article on chip repair. But I don't no what kind of sanding block I need. At the auto store they had three types, A flat one, a rounded one and a tear drop shaped one. I'm assuming I need the rounded one, Am I right?

BTW I'm talking about taking the blob of paint down to the same level of the original paint.

Sanding block is a rectangular cube type of thing.

I recommend Meguiar's sanding block in 2000 grade for your task

The UniGrit blocks are pretty damn expensive.

Unigrit block = $13

Wet Sanding paper = $0.70

I use regular 2000, 2500 and 3000 grit wet sanding paper, cut into small rectangles and wrapped around a common or garden pencil eraser.

One of those small rectangular ones about 1 1/2" long by 3/4" wide.

Words wonderfully.
