What QD should I get?

Weight is the enemy.
I now use enough QD to justify buying a gallon of it. I would like something under $30/gallon that works well as a clay lube, as a drying aid, and as an after wash/after small dusting wipe-down spray. I was looking at Megs Final Inspection because I think I can get it locally in gallons. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?

I'm not a big user of clay, but I think Poorboy's Spray & Wipe would do a good job as a clay lube and would be great for your other uses.
:dunno
As far as true quick detailers, my favorite is 4 Star UGE, but it's way outside your price bracket.
I also have had good results with Meg's Final Inspection and their Final Detail.
I buy all three by the gallon and have no complaints with the results from any of them.
I think the Meg's FD has been replaced by "Last Touch". I haven't used the Last Touch, but I have found most Meguiar's products to work well.

S+W or S+G are highly reccomended and fall into the 30 a gallon range.

:yeah

S&W can be diluted up to 50% for use as a clay lube and will not deteriorate the clay....and with your DC discount through PAC or Autogeek is in the range you speak of:hippi

I'd rather not use S&W, I need a gallon of that too but not as a clay lube, I use it so much as a waterless wash that it doesn't need another way for me to use more of it. I was really shooting for something that was more of a dedicated QD. Maybe S&G, I've got a bottle and have yet to actually use it except once to wipe down a hood. I still like the Megs, it's about $23 a gallon locally, I can save some money on shipping.

What are you using for your LSP? If you are using a carnauba, you may want to check out Einman Fabrik Clear Pearl. The EF line is an excellent value.

Poorboy's Spray & Gloss is also great; while it does contain some polymers you shouldn't run into any bonding issues as long as you wash between LSP coats. I really love S&G on my silver paint...it brings out the flake.

i have only two favorites.

adams DS and POORBOYS S&G

both absolutely great and totally different at the same time.

if u're LSP was a carnuba then go with S&G

if it was a Sealant then go with Adams...

im confident u wont be dissappointed in neither.

I usually have a carnauba topper on a sealant. I would rather avoid QD's that add protection, if I'm getting a gallon it would be used for everything and I don't want to cause any bonding issues. I was on the Megs site and they're having free shipping until the 8th. I'm thinking that I'll just order from there, I need to get some #88 too, so that will probably work well.

if u have a wax topper anything will work. if u have a selant topper than just stick to anything that doesnt have carnuba in it... i qd'd my car before which have had both sealants and carnubas and continued to add. nothing wrong.

You might consider using your carwash solution a clay lube. when I clay, I do it as part of the wash process and go with the S&G to add zing during the drying and as an afterwash/light dust QD. I have used S&G for both of these purposes. S&G per gallon is certainly in the price range you quoted, but it will never be as inexpensive as something you can get locally with no shipping charge, ie...the Meg's. You might try getting a small bottle of each and compare them to determine if paying the shipping on the S&G is worth it to you. I have never used the Meg's, but I love S&G.

Thanks for all of your suggestions. I ended up getting the Megs, it was just easier. I'll tell you guys how it works out.
