Hi everyone, I've been using M105 with very good results and wanted to know what your favorite heavy correction compound is and why. I like the 105 but I have the old version which has almost zero work time. I wanted to know if anyone else had the same experience. And out of these 3 which would be your goto compound if you had to choose one.
Thanks

ps... please post any other product if different from the one's I mentioned.

What are you trying to do with the product?

Do you really need to cut the finish that much?

By hand or machine?

I like the 105. I really did not care for the original version. There was to much dusting for me. The new d/a approved version has a longer working time. It also dust's considerably less.

Trying to see what the favorites are amoung fairly deep cut, major swirl marks, and heavy oxidation. Using a Makita 9227 and have every pad combination available.(except blue foam wool pad) I've been using Meguiars buff/shine W4000 wool and original M105 pad and been finishing with a White CCS pad with PFII. M105 cuts pretty well but working time is zero to non existant! Just wanted to see if anyone had a better "cutting" compound and combo? Also as 23jam said he had good luck with the new formulation of M105.

I have the newer version of M105 and it has an extended work time in my opinion. To me, M105 kicks butt on Menz PG. I'm using a rotary also. M105 and a PFW pad I love. Sometimes it's M105 and an orange flat pad.

Sorry, haven't used the 3M product you mentioned so I can't comment on that.

what speed are you using on the rotary?

I have not used 105 with rotary yet, :hmmm: but have used it with the FLEX da with very nice results.

The work time is quicker then anything I have used, But this is very nice, it seems to be doing almost a two step compound, polish, in one step, and finishing very nice.

I have noticed that if the paint is hot, or nice and warm, 105 will not work the same. Make sure the paint is cool to touch, or at least not hot.

IMHO, 105 is a superior compound, it's unlike anything I have used. I achieve better results in far less time.
