What product to use on silver?

I have used Klasse AIO and SG topped with P21S which gives an awesome look on silver but P21S is a little more wetness than I would like on silver now. I have also tried VM and EX-P which is great as well only EX-P never beads for me it just sheets. The look I'm going for now on silver is kind of a glow with a little wetness and medium flake.(Kind of like a dipped in oil look with glowing flake) Does Blackfire, WG, or UPP have any of these kinds of looks on silver. If I'm to stick with EX-P than what carnauba should I go to for a little wetness and beads? Any comments are appreciated.

I just did another search to see what everybody has been using on silver and there seems to be some people in favor of Mothers FX but Klasse AIO and SG seem to be good too. FK1 pink wax is some peoples choice on light colors too. Edit: Alright I've decided on sticking with VM and EX-P but all I need is a good carnauba that isn't extremley wet.

i may get bashed for this but you may try Ardex Topaz paste wax. it isnt as wet looking as P21S but has a good look and very durable from my experience with it

When I last redid the sealant & wax on my silver 307. I used AIO, then EX-P. I topped it off with Poorboys Nattys. I found the combo great. It was done in early june and the Nattys is still beading well. As yet I havnt applied another coat.

Try VM topped with Meg's #20. To my eye it leaves silver with the exact look you are describing.
Thanks for the info everybody. 1 Clean WS6 I'm glad you understand what kind of look I'm talking about. How good is #20's durability? Does it bead?

I would recommend AIO/SG topped with either LS or PG. That is the current favorite combo for my friend who has a silver metallic Honda Prelude...Great balance of wetness, metallic pop, and depth (at least for a silver car). I will admit that LS/PG are not durability workhorses.

I prefer RMG/UPP or AIO/UPP on silver.

If I top with a carnauba, I prefer either Nattys or Paste Glaz.
If I do go with a carnauba topper I would probly go with Natty's and Paste Glaz is discontinued but I may try Signature Series sometime.

Well, I seldom let a "what on silver?" thread go by without tossing in my $0.02. Having two silver Audis (same body style, same paint code), and at least one or two other silver vehicles, makes for some interesting comparisons.

Depends on the silver, especially the degree/type of metallic. The Klasse twins look OK on Mazda silver and almost-OK on Subarus, but I can't stand that look on Audis, too "blah". For wax I like Souveran (yeah, on light colors, not just black and red ;) ) but my all-time fave for silver is 1Z Pro MP topped with UPP. I don't apply the 1Z until I already have all the marring out.

Glazes (including Meg's "pure polishes"), BF, and SRP all tend to darken silver a little, maybe what some people want (and what *I* sorta like on the XJS), but generally I prefer a lighter look.

Honestly, as with all other colors, it's all in the prep with the LSP being a minor matter of personal preference. You might notice the difference between *very* different looks such as Zaino and Meg's #26, but not unless you *really* know what that paint normally looks like. LSP differences I see on Audi silver I'd *never* notice on the Mazda and sometimes I don't notice things until I have both the Audis side-by-side.

IMO the problem with silver (actually it's both the blessing and the curse) is that really light marring doesn't show up that well. Imperfections that you'll *never* see under many lighting conditions will still make it look less-than-swell. I probably spend almost as much time inspecting silver as I do polishing it.

I'm dealing with Chevy and Pontiac silver. Good point about silver having both a blessing and a curse with not showing the marring. I will probably be ordering MP, some glanz or UPP soon though even though I just ordered a bunch of stuff.

Never thought of Liquid Souveran but have thought about Signature Series. What about glanz wax users. How is the look and beading of glanz?

I recently put 1Z Glanz Wax on a friend's 3 year-old JDM Toyota wagon, and he was stunned (I was too, because I'd never tried it on white before). The car had not been polished, but after the usual easy application process it had a very nice shine. We left the car and came back an hour and a half later, and the car was glowing, as if the extra 1 1/2 wait made the Glanz really come to life!. Of course you could still see the swirl marks, but the white paint looked wet and glossy. I know words can't describe it, but for my only experience with Glanz on white, it really looked great!

What is Glanz like it turns of durability and beading?

If durability and beading are what you want, Glanz delivers. On my wife's Mazda (med. green metallic), I've gotten close to 6 months of beading. On my light gold Nissan Silvia , I usually get 4-5 months. Why the different results, :nixweiss.

I don't know if durability really is an issue since I will reapply every month but I want to see durability which means I want to see beads and slickness.
