What product has the longest lasting fillers

I'm looking for a glaze or swirl mark "remover" that has long lasting fillers. I can polish the clearcoat of my car pretty smooth, but it always has this light texture, like it is porous or something. On my hood, I used 3M SMR and IHG, and then put two layers of wax over it, leading to a pretty glassy look. I noticed about 3 months later that the "texture" was coming back. I don't know if the fillers dissipated, or if the wax gave out and the fillers fell out. I noticed the same effect on the top of my car. This time, it was 3M SMR +Meguiar's #7 + two layers of Medallion Sealant. That was also about 3 months ago, and now I notice that "texture" as well. I kind of expected the sealant would keep the fillers in.

I'm curious about this texture you're talking about. I'm concerned it may be clear coat failure. Could you attach a picture? Or at least give some more info on the car?

Before I'd get out the SMR again, I'd use a paint cleaner and clay, so I could see what the paint really looked like.

I'm almost thinking that SMR is too harsh and leaves the paint marred, then you cover the marring with the glaze. It would be better to smooth the paint.

Beanbag- Three months isn't bad for what you're talking about. Once the wax/sealant starts to thin, there go the fillers. Remember, the filler approach is a temporary fix. Nothing "wrong" with that, just the nature of it.

Postwood,

I don't think it is clearcoat failure. I even have it on the sides of the car, and the paint is in pretty good condition. The paint is pretty smooth (no claying necessary), coz I polished it reasonably well. I also don't think it is marring, coz the texture looks like tiny pits, not streaks. I don't have pictures of it coz my brother has my digicam.

Accumulator:

I guess this means that Medallion pitters out after 3 months? I thought another possibility is that if the filling is due to oils and not solids, that the oil simply diffused through the Medallion.

Claying removes contaminants from in the paint. If these pits are actually little shards o' crap, maybe they can be pulled out. However, most of the stuff that clay pulls out is microscopic.

If you're seeing little pits, it could be what I have on my car's front right side and hood, little pits from little rocks. Sucks, but that's what I get for actually driving my car.

Sounds like your system is good, honestly. But I'd add a yearly claying. Just wait till you clay, you'll go "Holy Crap, there was a ton of junk in my paint!"

I will continue to preach clay and paint cleaners to the wash n' polish people.;)
