What primer with Wurth Silver Wheel Paint?

hi guys,i would like say CMA is awsome i purchase some kit for my

pc,then DAVID emailed some discount code so i emailed them back after a week,i have my stuff already they give me my discount it feels good to be treated as a valued customer!

i have a black mdx we had snow here a week ago my truck is been aio and sg x4 then i had it wash in mobil touchless wash,will it removed my klasse?its cold so washing it by hand is out of the question i need input guys laters....
 
nope it won't, at least that's my experience



I use touchless wash during the winter or anytime it's too cold or I don't have the time to wash the car..and klasse seems to hold up nicely after several months of always been washed by those touchless carwashes...

Can you find a local detail shop that will hand wash your MDX? That will be lots better than the gas station butcher shops.

When I lived in Chicago I had a black Infiniti QX4 ( a <em class='bbc'>real[/i] SUV ;) ) and I used to take it to this shop and let them wash it. It was a bit more expensive than an automatic car wash but it was better in all other respects.

Look around, call around, try out a few places.
 
I can also attest to the fact that touchless washes will not strip klasse. I've been thru the sunoco touchless wash 4 times, and when it rained a couple of days ago, my klasse was still beading as if I just applied it. I'm very impressed with durability.

Steve, I'm trying to forget about the haze.:D But seriously, I haven't noticed it lately. But then, I haven't looked too closely. I do know that the protection is still there. And that makes me very happy.
 
In my experience, Dawn does an ok job of removing some of the Klasse. If you're sticking with the Klasse system, you might be better off stripping it with Klasse All in One. A paint cleaner would work as well. Laters
 
In reference to my SHO wheel resto thread, I was reading the description of the 1Z 'Haft-Grund' Self-etching Primer that is included in the "European Wheel Refinishing Kit", and it states to use this ONLY on wheels taken down to bare metal.

I have some areas that are/will be sanded down to bare metal, but most of the wheel will have some sort of paint, be it OEM primer or paint on the wheel. What would be an acceptable primer to use prior to applying the Wurth Silver Wheel Paint, to ensure maximum adhesion?

I was thinking of going with the "European Wheel Refinishing Kit", but if I will only have a few areas of bare metal, is it necessary to use the 1Z etching primer on the few bare metal areas and then spraying a regular, say Dupli-Color primer on the entire wheel, and over the 1Z "primered" area? ... just the Dupli-Color primer over the entire wheel, including the bare metal areas?
 
I would use the Dupli-color primer and if they carry a high temputure i would also use that.The rims do retain some heat and this may also help in protecting the painted parts of the rims.If a rim gets too hot it will discolor the paint i've seen this happen before.Just prep the rim like any other painted surface and i think you should be fine .
