I work for a fire department within view of NYC in Jersey. I still remember the smoke off in the distance and then the next day the acrid odor. For years the towers were in the skyline for as long as I could remember.

We sent a unit into Brooklyn the next day. The first time ever that anyone could recall Jersey units going into the city.
