the 3 effective way we learn
1stly by see-ing
2ndly by hear -ing
3rdly lastly seeing & hearing ....... Plus hands on..... a lesson of a life time

Many call I answered daily is pertaining to "how to restores car dead paint, oxidized, swirls, scratches - should i polish or compound, maybe using wax to polish ??? aka Paint correction
Head lamp blurred, turning yellow...how to POLISH aka restored?"

The million dollar question always ask.....How?

[quotel paint correction can transform a vehicle's appearance - machine polishing can remove light scratches, swirl marks, blemishe[/quote]
Paint correction is about polishing (meaning - cutting away - all the unwanted such as oxidized paint, with heavy cutting such as compound (level 12 cut) or Polish a milder version ( about level 4 cut) going deeper to remove scratches & contaminants - such as swirls, oxidations, water marks

How to Repair Oxidized Cloudy Headlights
my version in 3 minutes

as eye is the window to our soul, so does the headlamp is the eye to a car.... often we judge the car basing on the headlamp,
usually it will cost a bomb to replace them... in regards of whether the car make from perodua to porsche...as I have share in my prevous blog

1st restoring work
a barely 5 years old Myvi - head lamp charred - turn yellowish - aka oxidized

she has been polish every years since after the first year
DSCF9468.JPG

shall we hire doc headlamp?
modern car head lamp are commonly made of compression-moulded or injection moulded plastic,
2 factor contributing to such oxidations,
firstly the roadside foam wash (harsh chemicals & sponge use during washes) often this sponge soaked & filled with dirt, grim and sand that is not wash away became - TA DA sand paper) try to send for just one wash on just detail black car and check out the finishing
this is the 2 most thrased exterior part of the car (our halogen uses heat the filament to a greater degree create light during night use -Reflector optics) and sun during the day..and combine with the roadside sand paper wash..ta da.. it is just like scrapping off the UV resistance protector, worst still if it is Projector (polyellipsoidal) with a High-intensity discharge (HID) headlamps

With just optimum Hyper spray compound with optimum double sided wool pad for deeper correction - at 1500 speed 4 passes

or optimum Hyper spray polish with optimum double sided foam pad for for removing the lighter correction -at 1500 speed 4 passes

conclusion
as a Detailer of DIY home detailer..you need to know how much to removed & what is & not to be removed.....ask it shall be given seek & you shall find

check it out

imagine on takes us 3 minutes to turn this around, pls remember to tape off your painted surface such as side panel, hood & bumper area

we actually did a50/50 comparison area on the hood, as witness by all participant...how much of each combination can cut aka polish away

the thumb of the rule always start with the least aggressive way

we actually left as it is ...opps

as one of our friend drove about 100 kmm to attend our clinic
and i promise to look into his severely oxidized paint

this ride always expose the rear back, as his car porch only allows to cover that much...resulting bad oxidation as the rear hood

3rd and the actual patient for the day -------------
We had to do 2 other car to slot in while waiting for him to send his car over (he actually drove to pick her mum (very old) 30-40 km away for a new year celebration service) inspite of his moving difficulty
in every clinic we need car to get our participant for hands on ....the reason i choose this ride...that belong to one of my disable church friend, whom was a truck driver before, but lost control both of his limbs after infected by a serious diseases and genetics degeneration disorders.

DSCF9574.JPG

after many years of saving he finally brought himself a pair of legs(ride) being mobile again. but due to his moving disability - washing & detailing is out of the way....I know how sad & depress it is when you see something need to be done & yet you're powerless to do ( when I had my L4 slipped disc)

this clinic is the most meaningful, as to see the many who labour & put their hands of love in Restoring it

the car came with lots of contaminations such as tree saps & birds dropping & plently of contaminats to be clay away.

beging with OPC wash & clay with alien juice as lube

paint correction begin by compounding with OHSC + OPT Dbl side wool = with TLC by one of our female participants (BTW we had 3)
DSCF9515.JPG

finishing off by OHSP & OPT Dbl SIided Foam Pad

after much TLC

put your hands together for a newly painted hood
DSCF9524.JPG

reflection and clarity is redefine again, what is lost & now is found & it is restored

simple explanation
after years of oxidation, and contamination that does not immediately removed, causes this paint so rough & charred

seeing the severity of it we decided collaboratively to cut away the rough paint by OHSC at 1500 speed
DSCF9513.JPG

followed by leveling the paint by OHSP with at 900 rpm & finishes with 600 rpm
DSCF9518.JPG

the key of a perfect finish is "keeping your polish pad flat"

we are still very lack of disable friendly welfare in this country such as facilities & assistant

although tax exemption is available but bearing the cost of installing this cost almost the tax in return

when I told my disable friend of the effort you guys put in, he speaks with tear in his eyes, thanking us many times.

Thank you specially to TMcar wash, mum who lead the team to restore the paint & opticoating it. To all who came & laboured...My sincere thanks to you again (making my 8 hours of labour like one blink away)

Thank you for view once again, your support & cheers puts smiles in this family

Nice turnaround. Fantastic results on white.

Classes like this would have been helpful when I started. Might suggest removing jewelry though.

Thank Mjlinane for your kind words
YUpp for both your remark.....the reason I started this, was simply to help other & to empower them to hand;e rotary & paint correction in a right way...where nobody does it for us during when i started....

"i always remember the man in the mirror, if you want to chance the worl...we have to chance the man in the mirror"

thanks for citing the danger of hanging jewerly
