For me it is everything. Detailing consist of ALL OF THE ABOVE in my eyes!

Most customers want shiny outside but a brand new looking interior IMO. The most time spent is sitting in the car driving.....

By nature we all would say "All of the above". I am really bad about keeping my own car clean. Often it is a matter of time and energy left after detailing for customers. I chose windows under the presumption we are talking about our own cars. I can handle a little mess inside and the paint never stays clean for long, but since I look out the windows all the time it drives me nuts to see drips or spots.

When it comes to customer cars I try to determine whether they are more concerned with the interior or exterior. Sometimes it depends on the specific car what has the bigger impact. Dark color car the paint makes the biggest difference. Medium color car with nice wheels, the wheels might make all the difference. A light car with untinted window, the interior might be more noticeable. Or maybe it's just the mood I'm in at the time.

I beleive it is the total job, not one aspect. I always try to brind a vehicle to the next level.

I try to keep the paint flawless, then interior and engine. I could do a better job on the interior glass, my least favorite thing to do.

I clean my hood every day! And use KlasseHGSG about once a week on the hood . I keep the paint and wheels and tires pretty clean too but the hood is the only thing Im obsessive with !I could care less about my interior except for my dash !:D Its packed full of detailing supplies anyway, so to clean it would be a major ,major job!

I voted other....

- I like the paint and wheels to be clean and shining. But in truth I haven't polished my car for 2 years and it is starting to show. I will be polishing this spring.

- I always want the windows to be clean and clear.

- The interior is what I always see when I am driving so I want it to be clean.

- I do an engine detail twice a year. But if you aren't always opening your hood does it really need to be spotless.

At the end of the day its ALL important. Its a total package.

Indeed, the paint BUT if everything is not done then the wonderful paint does not get noticed. You have to perfectly renew and dress everything for the perfect polished paint to really stand out. Thus, to echo what has already been said - it is everything.

This thread is interesting because it has many different perspectives, depending on what and who are you are detailing for.

It seems that there are perspectives from:
a) Hobbyists who detail their daily drivers
b) Hobbyists who detail their garage queens/show cars
c) Detailers who detail their customers' daily drivers
d) Detailers who detail their customers' garage queens/show cars

I do suspect that many who say "everything is important" fall into the (b) and (d) categories. My own response was in the (a) category, I wonder what was everyone else's perspective?

Or, perhaps put in another way, if you only had time to do 3 things listed in the poll, what would you do?
