What Is It With Odyssey Owners!!? YUCK (56K, LOTS O PICS)

After seeing another thread on a nasty Odyssey interior, thought I'd post. I do work for mostly Doctors and they are busy people I know. However, their offspring sure seem to make a mess of things in the vehicles. This particular owner did not want to opt for carpet deep clean, of which it needs badly. Did my best with my trusty vacuum. Rest of the interior was scrubbed with a cut APC and dried. Leather surfaces conditioned. This is a 2006 with minimal miles on it. Suuuuuuuure didn't look like it when I picked it up. Customer did not want any paint correction of which it really could use. Color is a very very dark metallic blue which my camera didn't pick up too well. Exterior got a bath twice, wheels, tires, etc. Full detail basically minus carpet/floormat treatments and paint correction. Paint was pretty smooth so I just hit it with Souveran, it worked :heelclick Was on a tight schedule, got this done in 6 hours and I was moving. Spent 3 hours on the interior!

Now.......... on with the pics. Forgive me, pics are random befores and afters.

Very nice job! Question though, why is there is a *E* (Enterprise Rental) Sticker on the back of the Odyssey?? lol

Dunno, think it might be a lease vehicle. Thanks for the compliment, I busted by rump on this one. Annoying though (I am a perfectionist) not doing the carpets! I've been known to detail engine bays because it "bothers" me it's all dirty and gross when the rest of the car is spotless. Some say I am weird, however........... I feel at home on this board because there are others like me. LOL

Yeah minvans can suck sometimes! great turnaround! I bet that guy on the mower pissed you off:nervous2: dusting up the paint!

Yessssss, when I parked the van there to shoot pics I didn't see the guy mowing. Soon as I fired off the first picture he came by and made a nice cloud of dust! Once I got it back in the parking garage, went over it again with quick detailer. Argh, dust.

It's not just Odyssey vans. I've done a Grand Caravan with loads of trash and melted crayon in the carpets. I know of another Grand Caravan I wouldn't attempt without a respirator! I think it's more of a minivan thing. It's a large interior loaded with a lot of kids with one adult driver. Luckily, my kids were teens when we did the minivan thing. It still seemed to accumulate more junk than a sedan.

Doctors are some of the biggest slobs I know. I worked for one and he would just leave the orange juice and milk along with any food he took out of the refrige on the counter and not put it back with tops off-guess he did not care to waste and pick up after himself since he could afford to buy new things and have his housekeeper pick up after him.

Thanks for the kind comments, appreciate it. I agree, mini-vans and the smaller SUV's I do seem to be the most disgusting interior-wise. Dunno, some of the Doctors I work for keep there vehicles quite clean. Others...... as you can see by the Odyssey don't worry about it. Detailers are a special breed, my wife says perhaps I need medication. Is a challenge and fun to me to get a vehicle that is really trashed. To spend 6, 8, 10 or 14 hours on a job is no big deal to me. The pay off (aside from being paid) is to see the completed job. Is hard for me to deliver them knowing in a week it'll look the same as it did previous to my detailing it. However....... they come back and that is what buys groceries around here :chuckle:
