What is "a pass"

What do different people consider "one pass"? Just across the 2x2 panel in one direction (verticsl or horizontal) or completely breaking down the product? I consider one pass going over the area in opposite directions with overlap until the product needs to be removed? Who agrees? Who disagrees? Maybe this is a stupid question but I am currious how others classify one pass.
 
I believe it is til product is broken down. No pc will break down the polish going over it only once and I have heard mike from megs use the phrase many times leaving me to believe it is til product is broken down

I still say it means it means doing the panel completely with 1 north/south or 1 east/west pass. :bat





I call the other either 1 application or 1 iteration of it (i.e., apply, buff until finished, then that's 1 app/it)
 
I've never thought about this, but in my head I always related it to doing something completely, once. 1 pass with, for example M105, means you work it until it is ready to be removed. Inspect the area, and if it needs another shot, start a 2nd pass. If that's not that case, I have never advised anyone on what 'pass' meant, so it's only benefiting myself to know for sure :D
 
1 pass, just by using the word pass, should mean going over it once.



1 application would mean using it til its broken down and needs to be wiped away and inspected or ready for the second application which may take 10-15 passes or so to break down completely to complete the application process of the product.
