What holds up the best to pollen?

What holds up the best to pollen? Is it a carnuba or a synthetic? If synthetic, which one? I freaking hate this time of year, you have to repolish after every wash with the pollen getting all over my paint then drizzles or morning dew. What do you guys do/use?

What she said :)

I honestly believe that pollen is the worst. One week after detailing my car I had to redo it. The pollen combined with misty rain (there wasn't enough of rain to wash it away) practically killed a fresh coat of UPP on my car.

Accumulatorette's A8 has 1Z Wax Polish Soft on the hood and front bumper cover and (five month old) Collinite 476S on the rest of it. Last week it was so covered with pollen that the silver paint looked like a light green, but after a very heavy rain on saturday the car looks freshly washed. Maybe we were just lucky :nixweiss

Pollen is a royal pain. I have to leave my car all day close (not under) a h-u-g-e chestnut tree. The pollen at this time of year is awful... couple it with the winds and the light rain today and the car just looks terrible. This is a week after detailing with Clay, Megs ScratchEx (where required), Poorboys PwC and EX.

Mid-week I used Poorboys Spray and Wipe (before the rain) and the car looked perfect again, but the rain today has mixed with the pollen and left too much crud for S&W (I'm too worried about dragging something awful across the paint with my MF)... time for a proper clean!

After thinking some more; I wonder is there's anything 'hard' or abrasive; in pollen that would actually damage surfaces/waxes when 'quick detailed' ?

My feeling as that, as long as it's *only* pollen then a good wipe with your favorite quick-detailing spray and a decent MF (lots of turning) should be OK.

I think nothing will prevent it sticking; my car had been detailed just 2 days prior to the 'dusting' the chestnut gave it. I drove home 'swiftly' ;) and it was still covered after my 30minute drive home. But it certainly cleaned off easily from the Poorboys PwC + EX... I just wouldn't want to 'quick detail' the car after rain/wind had added any nast 'extras' to the pollen. As Casebrius says; it's not long and it'll all be gone. It's just a shame when your car has only had a few hours/days of that 'just detailed' look :sosad
