I go into work around 7:30am. Everything went well, finished the few cars I had to detail and that was that. After leaving work, I stop by Ken (WRXBrakes) shop to pick up some oil. I wait around to help a friend push a car into the garage, then leave. While waiting around the rain picked up like crazy around 6PM here in NC.
I take it easy in the rain, with the RT615 etc...I was driving home, less than 3 minutes away from the shop, and what do you know?
Toyota Tacoma decides to go weaving in and out of traffic and do about 55 in a 45 with the rain coming down VERY hard. I was thinking to myself, this is not going to be good. The next intersection is has a quick off-camber left "bump" in the road and when he hit that, he moved over about 4-5 feet into my lane. I quickly turned the steering wheel to the left, and began hydroplaning. Instantly the car did a 180 into oncoming traffic. Both feet were in tried to regain control, nothing. I looked ahead and noticed a UHAUL 24ft box truck coming down the hill, then it was over.
I "drove" a 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX. Of course, just had installed all of the goodies I had waiting for the car to hit 15k. I enjoyed it for less than 2 weeks that way.
Then:
Here it was at GTLive
Walked away in decent shape. Mild concussion, a couple of broken digits, broken ankle, bruises all over and a smashed up nose
Here it was at the salvage yard
