Well...not exactly. There is a wide variation among detail sprays, but the usual functions are to clean light contaminants (dust, fingerprints), and enhance the gloss. Some detail sprays which are matched to certain wax/sealants are supposed to contain small amounts of the wax/sealant to "refresh" that wax/sealant application.
