What does buffing out mean?

I'm really new to this, and I've been reading the forums and guides, but I'm not sure what buffing is. Does it mean wiping off? I think this is it, i just want to make sure.

Yes, technically, it means to clean, wipe or polish with a buff which is an actual piece of buffalo skin.

Good question. I think it would look like a leather chamois or something. I have never seen an actual buff.



Buffing has come to mean simply wiping off with a towel or cloth. Kind of like calling a tissue a Kleenex or a photo copy a Xerox.
