What Do You Use Under The Hood?

What do you guys use when you clean your engine bay? I am currently using Simple Green but that usually dries up my hoses and want to try something else. Please share your products and techniques.

I currently use the SG method, but I dress everything with VRT when I'm done. It helps keep the hoses looking new for a long time, I've heard that 303 works well too. Any degreaser is going to dry out your hoses, that's why you have to dress them when you're done, and don't forget to go back and buff the dressing so it doesn't attract dust.

Gunk Foamy Engine Brite works well for me. I have also used the SG. Dressing the hoses will help with the look you're talking about.

I don't think I have read anywhere on the can that it is. It's pretty strong stuff, so my uneducated guess would be that it is not. I use it once or twice a year, and would not suggest using it often. I'll use the SG for light cleaning in between the times I really concentrate on cleaning under the hood. Sorry I couldn't be more help on your question.

Yeah, I haven't ever needed to usae a really powerful degreaser, but SG is not it. I'm thinking of trying some gunk pretty soon here.

I would have never thought to use it until I read Jngrbrdman's comments on it and saw his pictures. It will really brighten up under the hood a lot more than you would think.
