Any time I feel like a rotary - FLEX PE
Large flat panels - Rupes 15 or 21
Slightly curved (rounded doors) - Rupes Duetto/ 15
Heavily curved (Porsche rears) - Rupes Duetto
Tight spots (inners of flares or A pillars) -Rupes Mini
Headlights/tai lights - Rupes Mini
Spoilers - Rupes Duetto/Mini

You might think with all the Rupes' love, that those are my only tools of choice. They really aren't. I still use my 3401 (and it is still an amazing polisher) when I feel the need, and with a purple or hybrid wool pad and FG400, it cuts like a banshee.

I still love the original Porter Cable as well.
