I'm just wondering what the average going rate is for detailing, and what does that include? Say for a standard 4-door car. Post what you would normally charge for like an Infiniti G35 Sedan.
 
That is way too broad of a question. There are many different levels of detiling and each package carries a different price. Prices also vary based on market.

It obviously depends on your market and what you do in each level of detailing. In any case, here's what my prices look like:

Full Detail:

Exterior:Hand wash and dry; bug, sap and tar removal; clean and dress wheels & tires; clean windows; exterior trim cleaned & dressed; Clay Bar to remove paint contaminants; a multi-step polishing process for removal of oxidation, water spots, small scratches and swirls and produce a glossy shine prior to the application of a high quality wax or sealant.

Interior:Vacuumed interior & trunk; clean and dress all interior vinyl; clean and condition leather; clean windows; Q-Tip vents, dash, console, door panels, and everything in between is cleaned and dressed, floor mats cleaned. $135 - $185



Express Detail:

Exterior:Hand wash and dry; bug, sap and tar removal; clean and dress wheels & tires; clean windows; exterior trim cleaned & dressed; application of a high quality wax.

Interior:Vacuum interior & trunk; clean interior vinyl; clean interior leather; clean windows; clean vents, dash, console, door panels, floor mats cleaned. $100 - $150



Exterior Detail Only

Hand wash and dry; bug, sap and tar removal; clean and dress wheels & tires; clean windows; exterior trim cleaned & dressed; Clay Bar to remove paint contaminants; a multi-step polishing process for removal of oxidation, water spots, small scratches and swirls and produce a glossy shine prior to the application of a high quality wax or sealant. $90 - $125



Interior Detail Only

These are my starting prices and I already feel that I'll need to adjust them once I get a better idea of how long things take.
 
Most self employed detailers make between $30 and $40 an hour although they don't specifically charge by the hour.



Figure out how long it takes you do different things and charge accordingly.
