I found out via all of you here that the Meguiars Dual Action Polisher is a Porter Cable 7424, but what brand is the Cordless version they have on their website?

Sounds like it might be good for waxing, but the speed seems to low for any polishing if the paint isn't already in excellent condition.

I found it on amazon.com with a bunch of other stuff.

The package on the meguiars web site is a much better deal though. It says the batteries last for 1.5 hours each. It also accepts standard 6.5" velcro backed pads. I could be wrong but it looks like the velcro backing plate is built into the machine.

I think this looks like a nice machine. It would be really good to do a quick one step job and not have to use a generator or worry about where your going to get electricty from. Hey! It could even be part of peoples "emergency" kits. :D

I would tend to think however, that it's speed would still beat a hand polishing. Plus, the cordless feature is a big plus for those of us without access to long extension cords and garages.

Anyone have this cordless buffer? Do you like it?

belive me when polishing it runs down in about 25-30 minutes easy the hand for sure i have used 1z product but i wish it could go faster. I change pad alot and it takes more time.but that is what i have without any elec at my disposal
