what are you guys using to cut products?

i usually use my spray bottles and cut 1/1 up to 6/1 but i have some 303 i want to cut 30/1 and 40/1 whare you guys using to measure the cut?

If you are filling a gallon(128oz) do the math and write down how many oz for each dilution

If you are filling a quart spray bottle(32oz) do the math and write it down too

If you are filling a 22oz spray bottle...ditto

Then use the jigger to measure out the product. It measures 1/2oz, 1oz, 1-1/2oz, 2oz, and 3oz. Then just fill the container to the fill line with water. I have some bottles that have the ratios marked on the side, but its never the ratio I need. Just write it down on a card and put it in your wallet or something till you memorize it.

I use a kitchen "shot glass" that has 1/2 and 1 oz. measurements. Then i just have a regular kitchen measuring cup that measures up to 8 ounces for my bigger stuff...i use 32 oz. bottles so this method works well for me....the small glass can be found at walmart for like 1.00..you could easily measure out the big dilutions with some math

Simple, I don't cut products unless they were designed to be diluted in the first place. When a product is to be diluted that's why God made measuring cups & containers.

Initially I thought you were kidding.

I use powder baby formula, repackage it, and sell it with up to 1000% profit.

all kidding aside, I use a shot glass with measuring lines that are made for cooks/bartenders. It measures down to even 1/4 fl. oz. If I'm making something bigger (like a gallon of ONR QD), I have bigger measuring cups that measures in fluid ounces up to 16 oz.

Most days I think I have a pretty good grip on this business, but this has got me stumped.

Why, oh why, would you want to 'cut' these products? We all know professional chemists have spent their careers developing unique, and even patented products. So you want to dilute their products? For what sort of application(s)

Help me understand...

Jim

Because its a gallon container of 303 cleaner concentrate and it made to be cut[from 10/1 up too 200/1]. I know how to do the math i was asking if someone found a large measuring cup with cut rates above 20/1 marked on the side like the spray bottles but they only cut to 5/1. i use a baby bottle right now i was just asking if someone used something bigger than a shot glass, baby bottle ,bar jigger ect.

I'm not cutting products, I'm diluted consentrates. My wheel cleaner is 4:1, APC is 8:1, OID is 3:1, ONR in 128:1, Upholstery cleaner is 16:1, OptiBond 2:1 etc. I didn't mean to imply that I was streatching product to save money or anything Jim. My uncle used to do that at his tunnel carwashes and the tires all looked like 5h1t. I also use distilled water for all my dilutions for consistancy and purity.

I see why you were confused by the word cut.

Hope that helped,

Chris

ill just continue to use my 8oz baby bottle ,dont know why everyone is getting their panties in a bunch. Some of you guys really need to relax, sorry for the confusion!

I use a dillution machine for the products that I use frequently in the prep bay. I also use the 5 gallon jugs to fill spray bottles. Dilluting properly is very important.
