What are you guys using to clean your ONR media

I plan to try washing via ONR more frequently as opposed to weekly washes.....

However, I tried using ONR this winter. What I found was that whatever it uses to encapsulate, it left my Sheepskin mitts very dirty. I was using 3 mitts per car, but normally how a wash media, you just rinse clean --- I found with the ONR mitts, I would need to spray APC on the mitts, run a brush over it and then rinse. The mitts got cleaner but they were never back to the usual clean mitts I was accustomed to.

I recall reading some threads where others have added a pinch of car wash solution to the mix, having the same issues as me.

I have new sheepskins for the season in use already. Curious what's the secret on getting those mitts clean......this is the one thing that threw me a curveball.

Try using a stronger ratio of APC or just plain old Dawn.

I can't remember if I was using my 9:1 or 4:1 ratio....but personally, I would not expect the need to APC my wash media after every car wash. Dawn will probably be not too friendly on the skin aspect of the mitt......

Well it seems that you have 2 choices. 1. Wash with a stronger APC or 2 don't use ONR and use regular car soap.

Not sure if this helps you much, but I actually use MF towels when using ONR. (I also do a presoak with a pump-powered garden mister on each section/panel.)

i use a spay bottle w/ 2 oz of car soap, spray the mitt, fold it half and work the soap in, rinse, and it come out clean again. the mitt that i use is not sheepskin but syn wool, give it a try.

All winter my routine was as follows.

1. Touchless car wash

2. Presoak panels with Pump Sprayer as mentioned above

3. ONR two bucket with Grout Sponge

4. Left over media used with wheels brush on all wheels

I experienced very little to no marring from this method through a pretty rough winter (15 miled from Michingan).

In the past, dish soap rinsed my mitts clean with no ill effects.
