What are you Business goals or Detailing Related goals for 2011?

Clean Dean

Keep it clean !!!
390 horses direct from SVT. Article in this months Motor Trend, est. price $35,000. A whole lot of bang for the buck. I do hear test drive in my near future.:xyxthumbs

:drools:

Not bad atall coming from SVT. Looks like Saleen might have some competition.

Speaking of SVT...I recall one of the best cars I've ever seen.

The 00 SVT Cobra R
2000_ford_mustang_cobra_r-2.jpg

It was on a trailer going the other way on the highway.

Rather odd as I have seen many cars on trailers on the highway near where I live WHICH IS OUT IN THE BOONIES. (By I-44 around OK and MO border) Let's see I've seen: Saleen Grand am GTO(Saleen SR for Granturismo2fans), a Ferrari F40, a Ferrari 360 Modena, and 2 DeTomaso Panteras and plenty others I don't remember off the top of my head...

Saw 2 of those on auction on ebay last month. Awesome car. I am having some regrets about buying the GT. A good friend of mine is buying a BMW M3 this weekend and he is eager to have me eat some Geman dust as soon as he get it. That new Cobra is looking better every minute ! However my wife will react like a Roman Emporer if I even try to talk her into another trade-in this year.:down  :down

That's alot of horsepower from a 4.6 liter... to get the 390 hp they had to install an Eaton supercharger. The only down side is the fact that they had to switch from the aluminum 4.6 block to a cast iron 4.6 block, and the fore/aft weight suffered. Unfornately that's going to affect the handling characteristics.

Rumor has it that the aluminum block couldn't handle the stress... Ford won't comment on the details.

They are going to produce approximately 12,000 Cobras... that's twice as many as usual.

<strong class='bbc'>i want one... i hate looking at new cars, it always makes me want to trade mine in. [/b]</blockquote>
Yeah, I know the feeling. If my wife sees me even glancing through the car section of the newspaper, I get the LOOK. :scared

I have always thought it is important to set certain goals to reach for, in everything you do, and then to figure out the strategy to accomplish those goals.

Back at the end of 2009 I set certain goals for Tru Shine to be reached by the end of 2010. and as a lot of you guys have watched me grow. I went above and beyond what I thought could happen within a year.

So I started thinking.......What is next? What is the next step?

For 2011 My goals for Tru Shine are...

#1 Paintless Dent Repair (Just another service that I can offer, to remove those eye sores from a freshly polished panels)

#2 Water Reclamation Mat (No more dirty spots left in drive ways at all the nice homes and locations that I detail at)

#3 Big, Black, Mean, Wheels and Tires for the Tru Shine Van (It just says "I ain't here to play")

#4 DeFelsko PosiTector? 200 Advanced Coating Thickness Gage

Those are my goals........What are yours? and why?

Well, since I took a little break my goals are little different. Almost starting over again, luckily I still have tons of great customers who were happy to hear I am starting up again. I guess I would say these are my top goals at this moment:

1. Contact current customers, Let them know I will be available for services again this year.
2. Stock up on the supplies I need to get the jobs done.
3. I hope to take on 2-3 bigger jobs(paint correction) a month(I still have a full time job).
4. To get on here more and talk to all my old detailing buddies! :D

Great idea for a post Eric. I hope to grow in 2011 as well as you did in 2010.

Some goals I can think of off the top of my head:
1: Fully legitimatize my business (insurance, LLC, accounting specifics)
2. Purchase a nice work van (2012?).
3. Post 10 in-depth write-ups of our details (not good at taking pics during right now)
4. Land 200% more customers in the high-end neighborhood near me (people who care about keeping their cars clean and will pay for quality maintenance washes).
5. Electric power washer (gas unit can be cumbersome)
6. Advertising (work shirts, door hangers....ETC)
7. More quality products (Leatherique, Sonax, Kwazar bottles, polishes, waxes, sealants, tools...ETC)
8. Most importantly, continue to learn from the pros at TID and hone my skills further.

I'm sure there's more, there always is, but I hope to look back at 2011 and say "Wow, what a great year."

Thanks!
