what are micro compounds

I tried doing some research and could not find an exact definition of Micro compound. Although from reading about different companies that offer them it does not sound much different from any other type of product. Basically a liquid compound that is silicone free.

I found a company called Malco that makes one Called Liquid Micro Compound.

they could be talking about the size of the individual granules in the compound ...:hmmm:

Everything that I have read on the net today about this...is what Stephan has posted here...its a light cut compound..with very little abrasives in it...designed to remove light scratches / oxidation / light polishing, its a correction product ...Malco & Production have one that they are calling MC...truly I would say that its a heavy polish

Quote from the MALCO catalog . LIQUID MICRO tm COMPOUND Moderately abrasive compound to remove 1500 grit and finer sand scratches from fresh and curd coatings. liquid micro is ideal for removing heavy oxidation and acid rain damage as well as finish imperfections, overspray and minor scratches. NO SILICONE so it is supposed to be body shop safe. Havnt used it just read about it. RANDAL

I first heard about it when a guy was talking about headlight restoration. One of the products needed was a "microfine compound". I guess he didn't mean any product in particular. I just assumed it was a slightly abrasive polish.
