What am I doing wrong? Swirls.

Hi all, New here and I have an 06 lotus Exige in Phantom Black (gloss) I have alot of swirls and I have the right tool's (I think) but not enough know how I guess. I have a spotless water system, And I recently invested in a Porter cable. I washed the car well, then clayed it completely with a pinnacle clay bar. After I went straight to a white cutting pad and Pinnacle Advanced Swirl Remover , It worked a little but I still see swirls in the paint. I finished it with a couple coats of pinnacle Souverän Carnauba Paste Wax . Under the direct sunlight the swirls are still there. Should I go with an orange pad and start over? Thanks. I tried different speeds too but with no luck. I assume the scratches were too deep.

Also for washing a boars hair brush is best for the paint right? :nixweiss

Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure how hard the paint on a Lotus is but my guess is you probably went to fast with the PC. To really get out deep swirls with the PC you need move extremely slow and maybe even do each section multiple times.

Before I switched to a rotary it would sometimes take me 6-8hrs to polish an average size vehicle with the PC. Even then about 5% of the swirls would remain.

I'm not too familiar with the polish you are using so I'd be hesitant to tell you to try the orange pad. Do you know how it compares to something like Optimum Compound or Menzerna Intensive Polish?
