As many of you know we have been having a lot of rain in the northeast. After answering the morning e-mails I left for my storage bin (U-Haul) to pick up some microfiber for some international orders. when i get to the elevator the sign says " Don't go to the lower level"
Well i never pay attention to signs and had work to do. I get down there and ther's water everywhere:scared: the closer I get to my locker the deeper the water was getting
I opened the door and three cases of microfiber were on the floor:wall
I went to check them and two of the boxes were soaked, the third was dry
assout:then i see all my die-cast models and they are also soaked
...
I checked through the rest of the storage bin and it didn't look too bad overall, so i grabbed the soaked cases and another dry one from the shelves and headed to my truck. I'm just about done putting them in and the A$$h@!e says to me " you can't take anything out of there"
i looked at him and said, "Are you telling me i can't go into my own unit and get stuff to run my business?"
He says "Not without someone going with you"
...my reply .. "I don't have time to wait and there's no notice that i have to":blabla::strong:
I went into the office and guess who is running the palce:notme: ..yup the A$$h@!e ...I had to wait in line to get a claim form and then he wanted to take pictures of the boxes i removed and then go back down to take pictures of the rest of the damage
assout: ...like I had time for this:wall
He took the pictures, made me sign a release of the boxes in my truck and then he apologized for being an A$$ :notme: I then felt a bit guilty for being so short with him and apologized too:redface: ...I talked to the other manager of the place and he guaranteed me another storage unit for the afternoon when Pockets got out of school. I left and spent the good part of the day inspecting towels and packing boxes.
After getting the days shipments out, Pocket and i returned to the place to move the remaining good stuff and assess the damage. Of course when we get there the space that was supposed to be mine was under someone elses name and had stuff in it.:wall:wall:wall We waited about an hour and they finally cleared out the stuff and we started the move...:blabla::blabla: two hours plus later and dealing with a very touchy elevator  we moved all the stuff from a 10'x10' to a 5'x10'
assout:
assout:
assout:
assout:
assout:
assout:
:sorry: for the rant ....and I was able to save the microfiber after a thorough washing :rockon but I lost quite a few die-cast and a few other sentimental items from my grandmother
