Whale tail rubber meets dye kit!!

New to the forum, first post. Lurking a few weeks. Finally a sight that feeds my addiction for being anal with my cars.

First question, Not sure if anyone has had experience with this but I have an '84 911 that I picked up last year. One of the many detailing challenges was that the rubber trim around the flag mirrors and the rear wing was fairly well dried out and dead looking thanks to the car spending most of it's life in the Florida heat. I used one of the good dye kits I purchased from an affiliated site and after several coats I got the flag mirrors looking about as good as new. The rear wing is proving to be a bit more of a challenge. Since it's such a large area it's hard to get an even streak free coverage. It looks a lot better after several coats than it did at first but you can still kind of tell that it's been wiped on. I've tried light buffing after the last coat dried but it still looks only about 90%.

Does anyone have any experience they could offer to help me get a uniform finish. I'm real happy with the product so far. The sheen and feel makes the rubber look brand new where no prior treatment with any of a number of protectant products had any affect.

If I could get a completely streak-free finish my car could be a poster child for this stuff!

Thanks
