Folks im trying to get the best possible finish on my R33 GTR Skyline. Im trying to get a deeper wetter look to the car. It pretty good at the moment but im seeking better. My current routine is basically VM, EX-Px2 and Nattys x2. I use Bold N Bright on the tyres now. This gives my a very nice finish but im looking to get the car even better in the coming months, ready for the show season. So any suggestions on how i can get it better, products, tecniques, hints etc would be appreciated. Here is a pic of my car, its called Spark Silver.

Ya it's pretty hard to do but here is my BAja with AIO-Sg and Natty's on top I did it all in one day(Yes I waited 12 hours to put the natty's on)

as you can see I have the best of both world Light and Dark silver..

The difference is in the prep :)

I would say go with a dedicated polish after claying. For PC/hand use, I suggest the Poorboy's SSR line...For rotary use, I suggest using the Menzerna Polish Line.

FWIW: Polishing is always the most drastic changing for looks. The glaze and LSP's are just the cherry on the top :)

I agree with Sean ... a lot of the depth and wettness comes in the final polishing step.
For your color, I would use SSR 1 on a polishing or finishing pad with the PC set at max speed. Follow up with EX-P and Nattys or UPP and Nattys ... After everything sets up for at least 24 hours, go over the car with Adams Detail Spray to add even more gloss and wettness without sacrificing clarity.

I usually use the pc at a 2-3 for applying products and speed it up to around 5 to work it in.I will try SSR1 in the next few weeks.I also have a few concours bonnets but not used them yet, would it be worth using them after using the Nattys or just wipe it with a good micro like i do just now???

Nattys comes off so easy that I just use a Micro Fiber. I don't know of any advantage to taking it off with with a bonnet.
Just my opinion :)

Ohh, SKyline. The best way to do that is to let me drive it.

Actually I think that one of the Victoria Wax products would work pretty well. Josh and I just did a review of them and they worked great for wetness and depth on a Red Metallic car. They might work the same way on a Silver Metallic Car. It's worth a look.

Try Silver Lexus, he seems to know a lot about Silver finishes.

Im looking at buying in some of the Victoria concours wax kits at the moment, just need to sort out shipping as it might turn out to expensive.I`ll hae a lok at other silver metalic cars on this site and see what they use.

It looks great (wet and deep) already. You may want to use VM and or SSR1 with a finishing pad instead of a polishing pad. This may help deepen a little bit more.

Hope this helps!

I would try SSR1 w/Polishing pad on about 5 , Then your VM w/finishing on 3, EX-P x's 3 by hand , Natty's x's 2 by hand . Spray wax right before show. I use Shoowroom Shine from my local supply shop. Its only 18.50 a gal.
