Wet sanding project

I had a little project this back in March. I decided to try some wetsanding on my Volvo V70 -01, 150000 miles on the meter.

Washed with degreaser and alkali.
Acid on the entire car. Diluted to 10%
Clay
Wetsanded
Polished Menzerna FG500
Polished Menzerna PF2400
Polished Menzerna SF4000
Sealant PolishAngel Cosmic
Windows Gtechniq G1+ G3
Trims Wolf Chemicals Trim coat.

Tools
Shinemate ep 801
Bosch PEX400e, excenter sanding machine.
Cyclocopy twin oscillating

After washing and acid




After wetsanding. Bosch used on roof and bonnet, 2000 paper. By hand on the sides, 2000 followed by 2500 paper.







First round polishing. Wool and FG500 on roof and bonnet. Blue/hard pad and FG500 on the rest.

Thanks guys. Yes it´s factory clearcoat. But this project were just for testing (Ive never done this before) so I didn´t take much of the clearcoat off. There´s still orange peel left. On the roof and bonnet there is still a fair amount of paint left according to my PTG (150-250 microns). But down the sides it´s only around 90 microns so that´s why I didn´t sand any lower. I hope I did everything right.:D

Very cool. My next question was going to be if you used a PTG and what your measurements were. Very nice job! :bigups
