Wet Foam Pads

Ok guys and gals. I'm going to let you in on a little secret here. I've never seen this mentioned, so maybe I can claim credit for it.:wavey

How do you get the water out of those foam pads after you wash them without ruining the velcro attached to it?

I got this back when I was still drying my car with a chamois and wanted a better way to wring them out. I just tried it this weekend and it worked great.

Autopians,

The BEST way to dry your pads is to dry them out as much as possible , then attach them to the D/A and turn it on. You get a bit wet, and its fun, but thats the best way ive tried drying them and ive never had a problem with the pads.

Another poster mentioned this method, but suggested sticking the PC in a bucket first. Then the Spray doesn't get you wet. I haven't tried it yet, but it sounds like a good idea. YMMV.

Regards,

Dan.

I might be one of the posters about spinning them in a bucket, but I only do it with the Cyclo and the rotary. I've launced too many pads into outer space trying it with the PC...and they always land in some nasty contamination

I kinda like the wringer idea, but I too wuold expect some residual moisture. Maybe you could adjust the spacing and run them through a second time with something absorbent on either side of the pad (like a wwmf).

Now I don't feel so bad .. a couple weeks back I ran short of clean white pads so I washed one and was "Spin Drying" it on the PC and gauking at the scenery .. the pad launched and I didn't see it go .. looked for it for 20 minutes then a week later I was driving home and saw it on the neighbors roof behind his chimney .. he was nice enough to let me retrieve it. I felt it go just wasn't fast enough to see which direction.
