Werid spots after rain

Well it rained lighly this morning. By the time I got to the garage at work I had a few "drops" of water on the car. At any rate when I got back this afternoon it was dry, but the areas where there was water had these spots on there. They were kind of whitish, dried and "raised" above the surface.

What could cause this? The werid thing is that it was raining yesterday and I came home and put it in the garage. When I left this morning it was dry and no spots at all on the paint (car is black).

Could it be the lights in the garage that when shining on the water on the hood that it causes some kind of reaction? :nixweiss

Any ideas?

I just took it out and washed the hood. Next time it is raining on the way to work I will just park outside instead to see if the spots still appear. As I said, this never happens even when I park my car soaked in my garage at home.

my guess is dust/pollen. I see it at work on my car once in a while when it rains followed by intense sun. There's farmland galore around my workplace, but for you it could be urban "junk" floating around in your work garage.

Are you close to the beach ? You said it rained lightly....Could be salt from the ocean....may not have rained hard enough to completely rinse your car.....Just a thought....

I too had some weird things happen on my truck several months ago, after a rain...My truck was parked outside during the storm, after it stopped (Now sunny), I went out to QD it, and as I was wiping the beads off, I had noticed that the paint under the beads was darkened ? Strange or what.....It took several days for it to fade....
