But a bottle of Armor All (wait for pics to load :D).

This thing was frozen SOLID and was virtually unused. Checked the back of the package and it said copyright was 1988!

Anyways, I thawed it out and it still looks like the stuff we use today. I think I will have to give it a try on my mom's work van tires even though it has probably frozen every single winter since 1988 and the chemicals probably serve no use anymore, but I will keep everyone posted.

Has anyone else found old car care supplies in weird places?

BTW: It was in a garage connected to my dads office burried in a box. It also said that it could be used on wood??? :nixweiss

I found an 8 year old bottle of KIT Scratch Remover in the trunk of my grandma's trunk that she bought when new.

She was 76 years old when she bought it!!! (Never used ofcourse)

I have a few cans of stuff that decorate my garage. Texaco wax. Some anti fog stuff for windows. Permatex cleaner, chrome polish. Maybe some pics later.

Yeah, I found a spray can of Turtle Wax Sheepskin conditioner or something in my grandmother's bathroom cabinet once!

I don't really know how you're supposed to use this stuff, but it's supposed to restore the feel of sheepskin seat covers or something....

I was given a 40 year old bottle of Turtle Wax by a client once as a gift, because she knew I was into detailing and she thought I could use it lol.

I actually found a can of Rain Dance... Do you remember that stuff?? It was made by Dupont and was blue.

Maybe you should put the Armour All in a time capsule and bury it for future Autopians lolol :D

John, another fellow Autopian, gave me a can of Blue Coral carnauba wax that has to be over 20 years old. its the size of a Blitz tin. I'm kinda scared to use it. lol We should start a Car Care Product Archive thread or something. We could post pics of all the ancient products in our collections. lol

I'm always glad I saved the old-time products that I did. But my OLDEST ones suffered from corroded cans so I had to toss them. Yeah, we OUGHTA have a "vintage product" thread/sticky.

RainDance and Armor All..my elderly maiden aunt (very cool lady) used those to maintain her big-block Chrysler ('77 or '78, last year for a 400 in a Cordoba). Much as we disparage those products these days, when she died the 10+ year old car was absolutely pristine. Taught me that it is NOT just the products. I probably should've kept the car, but no A/C. Guy I sold it to wrecked it almost immediately.

LOL........I used to use that stuff on my Mustang when I was a teenager.......it was also the title of a song by "The Guess Who"........ 8 track tapes, drive-ins, muscle cars........I think I'm having flashbacks!

Mike and I collect old Meguiar's bottles, but we have some other stuff too!

I found an old double full page newspaper ad from 1953 for Turtle Wax (green and black color ad) and then I found an old glass bottle to match the ad. I want to frame the ad and put the bottle on a shelf next to it.

Not the full collection but here's one bottle. I will have to take some pictures of our entire collection after we move and get unpacked.

I think they still make it, I used it not to long ago to top AIO on my wifes car. Its actually very good stuff, it has a super smooth buttery finish that rivaled Zaino any day. Didnt last very long though. Its been a year or two since I've seen it around.
