Weld Racing "ATC Coated" Wheel Care

Nothing out of the ordinary IMO depending on wheels....I googled atc, sounds like a factory applied sealant/coating.

What is the finish of your wheels ? Powder, paint, high polished alum ?

I guess I should have mentioned that they are polished alum.
But what confuses me is Weld`s site says not to use anything else on ATC coated wheels.....
I am thinking that sometime in the future they might need some type of buffing.....
 
Were they clearcoated ontop as well, or just alum and then ~sealed~
Regardless, you will know as either the CC will chip or you will see the wheels oxidize...

I love high polished rims depending on the app but I like them raw....more like a garage queen sorta deal.
They look best IMO, raw and high polished.
I`ve observered the higher polish you buff it, it seems like the more in nature it takes on liquids
Once can seal it, coat it, but IME, it`s always dialed back the high polish by a notch or two...

From the Weld site - "ATC is a proprietary nano-ceramic barrier to protect against mud, abrasions, salt, and corrosion. ATC locks in WELD’s signature mirror shine with no dulling or discoloration. The ultra thin ATC barrier will keep your Weld wheels looking factory fresh."

Sounds like they`ve installed a quality coating over a polished wheel. Might want to look into the maintenance products available for a Nano-Ceramic coating. Even good coatings require maintenance somewhere down the road.

Thanks...That`s where I was starting to head for some more reading.....But I`m still looking for anyone with real world experience.
These are going to be installed on a car which is not driven much so hopefully the upkeep will be easier

I`ve owned WELD`s polished wheels. They were beautiful but required a great deal of effort to keep them looking like they`re supposed to look. I wouldn`t own a raw polished wheel again because of that experience. Wanting to see your pics of the wheels when installed.
 
If those are uncoated aluminum wheels, you should have them sprayed with clear coat as soon as you get them.

Uncoated aluminum is more work than a tropical fish tank.
