Weird places you find swirl marks?

I was out to eat the other night and the table at the restaurant had a Lexan like cover on it. It was SO swirled out that it almost ruined my meal. The worst part, I was on a date and had no idea what she was saying most of the time because all I could think was: M105 and a Microfiber on a DA or M105 with a wool pad on a rotary.

I was also at a friends house the day previous and he had black counter tops and I could not stop from wanting to polish them.

I helped a guy with a concert grand piano, the lid had a series of swirls in the finish. Guessing from things been set on it to people sitting on the edge.

I used chemical based polish and with a wool pad and rotary and removed most of it. Then finished with furniture polish to clean residue.

The owner was WAY happy with the results

I found them on a Cinnabun once and I polished them off good till there was none left haha

Todd: Is this Corrections Anonymous?

Therapist: Why yes it is, come on in have a seat...

Todd: Hi my name is Todd, uh im a correction addict. Have been for the past few years. Hoping this group will help get my life back together. I dont think many people share my addiction to finding and removing swirls on inanimate objects....

All of Autopia Forums (in unison) responds: HELLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOO TODD!!!!!!!!

lol you sound like me Todd. Before I started detailing use to be OMG thats an awesome car! Now it's OMG who destroyed that cars paint with a buffer! Or when it rains every car all I think is "needs wax", or "Nice beads, I wonder what they used?"

swirls on top of the plastic toilet bowl top!
swirls around the sink on the countertop. water stains on the shower door glass.
metal water faucet never seems to look any good. i once applied collinite 845 liq insulator wax to the glass mirrors & on the glass shower doors, forgot what results i came up with.
knives, forks & spoons never seem to look fully polished after running through the dishwasher. ever about to spread butter on your roll & discovered water spots on the knife?
recently i have become very distracted by swirls on windshields! i think they bother me more because i cant get them out! so i try not to look at glass when its sunny out!
i am serious. i know i have issues! chances are so do you! :rofl

This thread came up at the perfect time. I felt like my bathroom counter top was really hazy and rough. So I gave it an ONR wipe down, clayed, and polished it. I'm glad no one walked in on that. Haha!

welcome to mr. todd's neighborhood ... can you say obsessive/compulsive ? i knew you could ! oh man, we're all in trouble with this detail disorder.

The elevators at the office are all shiny swirls - I keep looking at the swirled-up metal and think of how much more mirror-like it'll be with a bit of polishing...

Bowling balls. 'nough said.

I grew up with a father who was a competitive bowler. My brother and I were entered into leagues from a young age and pushed hard. At 13 I had over a 200 average, and the only competition around be was from a girl named Diandra Hymnn. As a side, her last name is now Asbaty and she is one of the top bowlers in the world.

The first thing I ever wet-sanded (and hand polished) were bowling balls. By changing the surface texture you can effect how the ball handles in various lane conditions. I don't bowl too much anymore (was pushed way too hard as a kid) but still throw 220 games on a house shots.

lol, when im out in public its like i have swirl goggles on, worse then beer goggles because everywhere you look there are swirls!. would i be insane to bring my brinkmann everywhere with me to look for swirls? LOL. to the guys who polished their bathroom now what if your significant other is not home, he/she comes home and hears a loud vibrating sort of noise, wondering what it is and jumping to the worst possible conclusion she walks into the bathroom expecting to see you doing something nasty, then he/she comes in and sees you polishing the shakes their head and just walks away while saying "wow you really need to go to the 12 step detailers anonymous!"
