I just washed, clayed, cleaned, glazed, waxed about two weeks ago. The wax seems pretty dull and I want to wax it again. When I feel the surface, however, it doesn't feel smooth even after washing the car. Is it ok to wax without claying etc.? Or will I just be grinding the contaminents further into the clear coat? Thanks...

You may want to try some sort of paint cleaner. Pinnacle Paint Cleansing Lotion is really good for that kind of thing. What kind of products did you use on it to begin with? After claying the car I would think that you got all of the gunk off. It is odd that it would lose its glossy feel so quick.

Well if you can wax the car and if they applicator pad stays clean the entire time than the dirt is imbedded in your car. It won't damage the car by waxing it but everyone here will suggest you remove all of the crap built up on your car. A nice clay followed by a polish will make your car look and feel like a mirror and also help your finish last longer and look better from start to finish.

Your using something like Meguiars glaze right? That stuff doesn't last long at all (2-3 weeks and you can see the difference) but it does give you the "wet" shine.

Yeah, I'm using Meguiar's Show Car Glaze topped with Pinnacle Souvern. Looked great when I put it on but now most of the shine is gone.

Anyway, I would clean and polish and wax every week if I could but I just don't have the time (definitely going to try BF or Zaino when my current stuff runs out). So I'm wondering if just waxing it for now will be ok even if I don't polish it. I don't want to damage the clear coat or anything.

Thanks...

As long as your car is always clean before you apply the wax then you should not have any problem. One way to tell is to wax a panel, look at the applicator and if it is as clean as when you first started your a-ok. The major thing you need to look out for is inducing swirl marks.

Keep your car clean and just wax one layer every week until you decide you want to purchase the sealent. You won't hurt your clearcoat, you'll have a nice shine and you'll have excellent protection.

I use Klasse, it has a shine that is 99% the same as Blitz wax, I don't know if you have ever used that wax. Sealents themselves will give you a shine as nice as a wax and last well over a month, you could probaly go two months before applying one more layer to bring back the shine and take the protection up a notch.
