Weekend Details - v. Scotchbrite Company Car & Beatup Black Altima

GREAT job on the altima interior .but you forgot your purse :lol

really nice on the maxima - I have to disagree with the other poster though - the before and after on the 03 altima was awesome - it was glowing in the after!!

p.s. Sean - the DG and Z will be shipping out tomorrow!

Dino: Thanks again for the Menzerna stuff. It sits right at the top of my product arsenal for polishes right now. I will definatley be using the Ceramiclear stuff when I get a chance to do my car. The powergloss is a serious tool, but works ever so nicely :)

hirosh: Thanks! And Liz appreciates your kind words as well :D

groebuck: Shoot...I thought I lost my Coach handbag...There it is :bounce ...

While the Altima was wayyy dirtier in the beginning, the hellish paint condition of the Maxima proved to supercede in severity.

Looking forward to the Z and DG :up

Man ! really impressed with your work :bow ... especially blown away by Maxima, upholstery looks like new. If you dont mind ... what extractor do you use for cleaning ?

Sean, after extraction is the upholstery damp at all ?

I haven't done too many interiors mainly because I don't want to leave anything damp and cause mold to grow (don't have a dedicated water extractor)

Very impressive work as usual :xyxthumbs :xyxthumbs

Nice job on the detailing. Really impressive.:bow. I love the hood picture.

Its good that you find a partner who shares the same passion :xyxthumbs

Wow, truely superb work! Both cars look great, but the Maxima is phenominal.

I wish my wife would help, her idea od detailing is to clean the crap out of her car and let me know it need detailing. Oh and once she did bring me out a cold drink. LOL!

I see you use the 3m blue painters tape, do you have a problem with residue, or dust sticking to the adhesive and leaving residue? I ran into that problem with the 3m green (body shop) tape.

What do you use to rinse after the woolite mix? Also do you do a clean water rinse on the fabric / carpets?

Can the Menzerna polishes be used by PC? I tried once and wasnt to suiccessful.

kartoon: Yeah they are damp. I do interiors first, more specifically the carpets, mats, cloth seats (if applicable). While I do the rest of the interior I leave the doors open to dry. Then after washing/claying, I leave the doors open on the opposite side I am polishing. By the time I'm done, everything is DRY. BTW: I leave the mats in the sun outside of the car.

Xtrail: Thank you. Having her help means a lot to me :D

Lightning SVT: I don't do a clean water wash through them. Oxy has seemed to leave the fibers reasonably soft and no discoloring or any problems. My girlfriend tried a clean wash while doing her mats last week and we saw no improvement, just wasted more time.

LoL at the wife comment. :lol

I don't have any problems with the blue painters tape. And even though I had it on in direct sun for about 4 hours, it came off with little (just wiped off) or no residue. I am happy with this line of their tape.

I don't rinse after the Woolite mix on the vinyl, leather, rubber, plastic. I just protect with Lexol, 303, or AA. No problems whatsoever on my car, Liz's car, or customers cars.

The only Menzerna polish I wouldn't use with a PC is FP, since it dries up quickly. The rest work in for a while so I think you wouldn't have any problems.

PG @ 1900 rpms, man ive used the PG but only at 1500rpms. did you notice a breakdown of product faster/slower @ 1900 rpms?

Great job BTW. I love having my girl help me too cause then i dont have to pay her.... i pay her w/LOVE :D

:lol at the gf comment.

Actually I preferred working PG at that high speed. I felt it cut the swirls up quicker and broke down to a very fine polish. At that speed, I noticed almost NO buffer swirls which is very surprising for the pad, speed, product. FP took the few holograms out and left a deeper finish.

Wow, nice work. I use 3M's Perfect It II Fine Cut Rubbing Compound but have Menzerna's Final Polish, which makes me want to try their Intensive Polish. Especially after your pics.

One thing I like to do when detailing the interior of a car with wood/faux wood trim is to wax the trim using my fingers. I can always tell a difference between before and after.

Excellent work on the Nissans, GSR. Ironically, I have a 4th Gen Max that color coming to the next detailing meet and you gave me an idea for something to use on it. :D
