Weekend Details: BMW 325 with PB Wheel Sealant

It would probably be equivalent to SSR1 and a polishing pad, no? Instead of using a less aggressive polish, he used a less aggressive pad.

It works great actually. The finishing pad works it well enough to get swirls out. I even removed some hazing from another buffing job.

I follow the rule about first doing no harm and using as less aggressive technique as I can. I have used several pad with 2.5 but unless I need cutting power, an LC finishing works fine.

My concern would be weather the soft finishing pad would break down the abrasives in an aggressive compound like SSR 2.5. Apparently it did.

thats fantastic - well down. I think German paints respond really well to a detail and the wheels are a knock out.

Thanks Sean. Wait until I get better photos!

Stunning!!!

Could you describle the condition of the paint prior to the polish?

I am interested in purchasing some poorboys polish, but not sure if I need SSR 2.5 -> 2 ->1 or can I get away with one polish with the right combination of pads.

I have a steel grey BMW. Swirls seem to be hidden by the color, but I have a few areas that need some correction as well as an overall good polishing.

Any info would be helpful.

Thanks,

Steve

Sure. Basically the paint was in good shape but had minor swirls. I had previously detailed the car and removed some more significant swirls with SSR2.5. I doubt you need to use SSR2 and SSR1 if you have 2.5. So far I have been able to go right to a paint cleansing lotion or directly to carnauba after 2.5 with no trouble.
