Your previous thread was moved to the Professional Auto Detailing Forum.
Usually when a thread is moved, you would have received a PM. Evidently you didn't.
It's here.

Charles

Edit: My mistake. A pm is not sent when a thread is moved.

Since it expires in August, you might just want to wait for that and then snag it for a couple bucks. Just buy a different domain for now and then transfer everything over to the new one when you can buy it. Or offer the guy $20 bucks and see if he'll sell it now. He isn't using it and it isn't making him any money. Chances are he doesn't even remember owning it.

Jngrbrdman, u are the effin mann...thanks so much.....i offered him 18 and he thought it was ridiculous.......i don't want to pay this guy much now knowing this information.....i can wait to august~

just be aware of that date. On the date it expires you need to swoop in and take it. If he renews it then you will be out of luck and you'll need to get another domain.

Unfortunately, it looks like this guy bought the domain name with the intention to sell it.
So I wouldn't be suprised if it wasn't available for a while.

I think he bought it with the intention to develop it and just never got around to learning anything. It's too specific of a name to be valuable. If it was something like proautodetail.com or something general like that, then I can see it having value. joesautodetailing.com is available. If I was trying to hold a valuable website name then I'd grab any other variation of it too. Who knows... I still think you should come up with something else and spend the next few months developing a rockin website. Then in August see if his comes available and snatch it up. If not then stick with what you've got.

What is it worth to you? If you truly need it, you can put a dollar amount to it. What will it add to your business? If you can answer these questions, what ever he is asking will sound either cheap or expensive. Ask the owner to get you access to some traffic reports on the site to validate his price.

I wouldnt sell anything for $20. I'd rather throw it away than see someone else profit from it.

I ended up buying joesdetail.com for free with the web hosting package from network solutions...The owner of joesautodetail.com offered 200$ for the site, but he didn't give me this price until i had already bought joesdetail.com

You snooze you lose I guess. Tell him you would have gladly paid $500 for the site if he had only responded sooner. Then let him sit on his empty domain and kick himself for screwing around.
